Building towards a sustainable future in 2024

18 December 2023

Cirencester Friendly have been working hard through 2023 to ensure we keep our neutral carbon footprint. Our aim was to further instigate key policies at the benefit of staff and increase our support within the local community. This year, we have made great headway to becoming an even “greener” Society.

Attaining a Net-Zero Carbon Footprint

As you may be aware, we are a socially conscious enterprise, and our commitment has been unwavering. Our staff Members committed to taking part in our internal litter picking initiative to support the South Cerney community. We have made a great impact, and we are being recognised for our efforts.

We have been scrutinizing our greenhouse gas emissions from both our infrastructure and staff travel, pushing ourselves to enhance our sustainability. Initiatives such as transitioning to renewable energy, waste reduction, increased recycling, offering eco-friendly products, and supporting local environmental projects is still our key focus.

Fostering a Sustainable Future

We are pleased to share that this year we have once again purchased trees to offset our carbon use for the year. We purchased 565 trees, which are strategically planted in a protected area within the Scottish Highlands through the Trees for Life initiative. Trees, beyond their ecological significance, purify our air, filter our water, and provide habitats for most of the world’s land-based biodiversity. This initiative contributes to a brighter, collective future and we are excited to be a part of it.

We look forward to building towards a sustainable future in 2024.
