Cirencester Friendly Appoints New Chair

24 July 2025

Income protection provider Cirencester Friendly is thrilled to announce that Andy Lucas has been appointed as their new Chair. Andy has been a member of the Board since 2021, previously serving as Senior Independent Director. He replaces Janice Banks, who retires after serving the maximum nine years on the Board, the last two of which were as Chair.

Following four years on the Board, Andy has a deep understanding of both Cirencester’s ambitions and challenges. He has wealth of industry knowledge, acquired through a distinguished career in marketing, sales and business transformation, including senior roles at Prudential, ACE European Group and Cambridge Building Society. He is also Vice-Chair of Buckinghamshire Building Society, trustee of two charities and a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Since becoming a Cirencester Friendly Board member, he has chaired the Society’s People and Renumeration Committee.

Andy Lucas said: “I am delighted to make the move from Senior Independent Director to Chair of Cirencester Friendly’s Board of Management. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Society so far and with exciting plans for growth on the table, I look forward to playing my part in shaping the future of the organisation and seeing the Society continue its upward trajectory in the years to come.”

CEO Andy Morris said: “I am thrilled that Andy has been elected as our new Chair. We have an excellent working relationship, and he wholeheartedly understands and supports our ambitious growth strategy. With his background in marketing and transformation, he will be perfectly placed to offer candid and sound advice to the Board and the wider executive team. I look forward to working closely with him and the rest of the Board to achieve our objectives and serve the interests of Members for their long-term protection.”
